Get a God Parent/Sponsor Certificate

Congratulations on being asked to be a Sponsor for Baptism or Confirmation! This is a great honor. The role of a Sponsor is to give witness to the Catholic faith through your words and actions.

“In so far as possible, a person being baptized is to be assigned a sponsor. In the case of an adult baptism, the sponsor’s role is to assist the person in christian initiation. In the case of an infant baptism, the role is together with the parents to present the child for baptism, and to help the child to live a christian life befitting the baptized and faithfully to fulfill the duties inherent in baptism.” (Canon 872)

Parishioners of Our Lady of Hope Parish who have been asked to be a God-Parent or Confirmation Sponsor must request a Certificate of Eligibility from the Parish Office.
